KATHMANDU, March 31: The recommendation committee, formed to select officials for the Transitional Justice Commission (TJC), has begun its work.
Lily Thapa, a member and spokesperson of the committee, said the committee started its work after holding a full meeting on Sunday. The Council of Ministers formed the recommendation committee during its meeting on March 24, in accordance with Section 3 (3) of the Commission on Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2071 BS.

The recommendation committee held its first meeting and set its work into motion, stating that it would complete the necessary tasks within the designated two months.
The committee will recommend the appointment of the chairperson and members of the Commission on Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Omprakash Mishra, leads the committee.
Former Attorney General Kham Bahadur Khati, Arjun Karki, and Stella Tamang serve as members of the committee. Additionally, Lily Thapa represents the National Human Rights Commission as a member.
