KATHMANDU, June 27: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has implemented new regulations stating that a maximum of only three individuals will be allowed to see off and pick up each passenger.

The decision was made by the airport security committee in response to the large crowds gathering outside the domestic and international terminal buildings. Limited space and congestion at the airport have posed challenges in terms of traffic management and increased the risk of accidents.

The committee has observed that the growing crowds have negatively impacted passenger services and have heightened the risk of accidents in the passenger drop-off area.

Particularly in the evenings, when overseas flights are scheduled, there is a significant gathering of relatives and well-wishers in front of the international terminal building.

To address these issues, the new rule has been implemented to limit the number of people bidding farewell and picking up passengers.
