TIA Immigration now requires passengers to arrive one hour before departure

The Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has requested passengers to enter the departure immigration area at least one hour before their scheduled flight, citing increased congestion during nighttime hours.

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: The Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has requested passengers to enter the departure immigration area at least one hour before their scheduled flight, citing increased congestion during nighttime hours.



According to the office, passengers should ensure they have entered immigration no later than one hour prior to departure.

“The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal determines the aviation schedule, and the airport office has been specially requested to make nighttime flight schedules more flexible by adjusting them forward or backward,” the notice states, “International airlines have also been asked to facilitate by completing check-in and sending passengers to immigration at least an hour before the flight time.”
