Three members of a Bhutanese refugee family killed in Texas shooting

According to agencies, the victims have been identified as 53-year-old Lalit Pradhan, his 35-year-old wife Ranjana Shrestha and their three-year-old son Pranish.

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Three Nepali-speaking Bhutanese refugees including a child were killed in a shooting incident in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday morning.



According to agencies, the victims have been identified as 53-year-old Lalit Pradhan, his 35-year-old wife Ranjana Shrestha and their three-year-old son Pranish.

Police reported that Ranjana and Pranish were found dead at the scene with gunshot wounds, while Lalit, discovered critically injured, died during treatment.


Originally from the Bhutanese refugee camp in Sanischare, eastern Morang, Lalit had resettled in the US about 15 years ago. Ranjana’s parental home is in Kathmandu.
