Three arrested with 3,800 e-cigarettes in Kathmandu

 According to police, the individuals were found smuggling the e-cigarettes.

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Police arrested three individuals from Chamati, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-35 with 3,800 e-cigarettes (vapes).



The arrested are Nima Chhiring Sherpa, 40, from Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-1, Sindhupalchok; Rambahadur Gurung, 52, from Melamchi Municipality-7; and Krishna Bahadur Gurung, 42, from Thulung Rural Municipality-4, Solukhumbu.

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office apprehended them on Monday evening. According to police, the individuals were found smuggling the e-cigarettes.


Police said the vapes were stored in a ground-floor room of Ramesh Shrestha’s house and had been illegally brought into Nepal from China by evading customs.


The arrested individuals, along with the confiscated e-cigarettes, are being sent to the Department of Revenue Investigation, Harihar Bhawan for further action.
