KATHMANDU, Sept 18: Indian actor Tanushree Dutta has revealed that she has consistently turned down invitations to join the popular reality show Bigg Boss for more than a decade, even when offered a hefty IRs 1.65 crore, India Today reported.

The former Miss India Universe 2004 said the show’s format goes against her values and lifestyle, and no amount of money can convince her otherwise.

Speaking to Bollywood Thikana, and quoted by India Today, Dutta explained that she has received offers every year for the past 11 years. “Do you really think I would go to a show like that? I can’t stay in a place like that; I don’t even stay with my own family,” she said. “I was never interested in Bigg Boss and will never be. They have offered me IRs 1.65 crore to be a part of the show. There’s another Bollywood celebrity at my same level who was paid the same amount. I’ve even received a call from the Bigg Boss stylist, who requested and promised to take care of my diet. I said even if they give me a piece of the moon, I wouldn’t go.”

As highlighted by India Today, Dutta elaborated that the show’s living conditions and lack of privacy were key reasons for her refusal. “Men and women sleeping in the same hall—they sleep there, fight there. I can’t do that,” she said. “I am very specific about my diet, depending on my energy. Do I seem like the kind of woman who will sleep on the same bed with a man for a reality show? I’m not that cheap. My privacy is valuable to me. I know I can earn more than that if they let me work in peace.”

Despite repeated approaches and lucrative offers, Dutta remains firm in her decision. India Today noted that, for the actor, the promise of fame and money cannot outweigh her commitment to personal boundaries and self-respect.
