Specialised burn care units to be established in all provinces; services to be expanded at Bir Hospital

KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has unveiled plans to establish dedicated burn-related treatment units in all provinces as part of its effort to strengthen specialised healthcare services across the nation.



Presenting the budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26 at the Joint Session of the Federal Parliament on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel announced that burn care services at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu will also be expanded.

To support this and other health initiatives, the government has allocated Rs 95.81 billion to the Ministry of Health and Population for FY 2025/26.
