Special parliamentary committee formed to probe 'cooling-off period' controversy

KATHMANDU, July 6: A special parliamentary committee has been formed to investigate alleged irregularities related to the "cooling-off period" provision in the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2080 BS.



The committee is officially titled the ‘Special Committee to Investigate Errors in the Report of the Federal Civil Service Bill’.

It comprises Jeewan Pariyar and Sushila Thing from Nepali Congress; Narayan Acharya and Ishwari Gharti from CPN-UML; Madhav Sapkota from CPN (Maoist Centre); Ganesh Parajuli from Rastriya Swatantra Party; and Roshan Karki from Rastriya Prajatantra Party.


According to Speaker Devraj Ghimire’s secretariat, the committee has been given a 21-day deadline to complete its investigation.
