SINDHULI, July 28: Sixteen members of a single family have gone missing from Golanjor Rural Municipality–6 in Sindhuli, local officials confirmed.

According to Ward Chairman Rabin Shrestha, the family of Urmila Hayu, residing near Bhandas Bippar Kateri in Chetpa, has been out of contact for several days. The house has suffered minor damage and livestock including goats, chickens and a buffalo were found unattended. “The entire family has disappeared and a search is underway,” said Shrestha.

Shrestha added that the house is located in an isolated area, around a 15-minute walk from the nearest settlement, making it difficult to determine when the family left. A buffalo tied in the cow shed above the house has not been fed for three days, he said.

Police reached the site after being informed and have begun search operations, said SP Lal Dhwaj Subedi at the District Police Office, Sindhuli. “They had recently collected a social security allowance. So, it is possible they may have gone on a trip. We are currently tracking their mobile phone locations,” he said.
