KATHMANDU, Sept 18: Six central leaders of the Janamat Party have resigned from the party led by Dr CK Raut.
The leaders, who had given Raut a 24-hour ultimatum on Wednesday to step down as party chair, announced their resignation on Thursday, relinquishing even their general membership.
Those who quit include Vice-Chair Abdul Khan, Spokesperson Dr Sharad Singh Yadav, Youth Union Coordinator CK Singh, Far-Western In-Charge Rajaram Chaudhary, and National Council member Bikrambahadur Bam.

After the ultimatum, Chair Raut had posted on social media that it might be the right time for some to leave the party.
Spokesperson Dr Yadav, one of the leaders who resigned, said, “We did not resign to form a new party. We stepped aside to make things easier for him.”
