Share transactions surge by 189.23 percent, hit Rs 2.125 trillion in previous FY 2024/25

The total share transaction in fiscal year 2024/25 reached Rs 2.125 trillion, marking a 189.23 percent increase compared to the previous year.

KATHMANDU, July 17: Share trading through Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a historic high in the last Fiscal Year (FY). The total share transaction in fiscal year 2024/25 reached Rs 2.125 trillion, marking a 189.23 percent increase compared to the previous year.



In the FY 2023/24, share transactions stood at Rs 734 billion. Before this, the highest-ever annual trading volume was Rs 1.454 trillion in FY 2022/24.

According to NEPSE, market capitalization surged by 31.05 percent year-on-year, reaching Rs 4.656 trillion.


Currently, 272 companies are listed on NEPSE. In the last FY, three companies were delisted due to mergers and acquisitions, while four new companies were added through initial public offerings (IPOs).
