The Kathmandu Police Range confirmed their release. According to Spokesperson Apilraj Bohora, all except one were released. One of the protestors, Rajiv Jha, remains in custody, with police preparing to file charges against him.
Thapa, along with Shila Rana, Rakesh Basnet, Binod Kapali, Ram Chandra Lamichhane and Saroj Timalsina was arrested from the Naxal area after allegedly attempting to enter a restricted zone.
