Senior Advocate Nepal appointed member of Judicial Council

Senior Advocate Mahesh Kumar Nepal has been appointed as a member of the Judicial Council. Acting on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Nepal, a native of Bhojpur, to the position on Monday.

KATHMANDU, July 7: Senior Advocate Mahesh Kumar Nepal has been appointed as a member of the Judicial Council. Acting on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Nepal, a native of Bhojpur, to the position on Monday.



According to the Office of the President, the appointment was made in accordance with Article 153(1)(d) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Earlier in the day, President Paudel also appointed Megh Raj Pokharel, Shreekanta Paudel, and Shanti Singh Thapa as justices of the Supreme Court.


The Parliamentary Hearings Committee had endorsed all four appointments — three Supreme Court justices and one Judicial Council member — prior to the official announcement.
