Addressing the function held at Model Institute of Technology (MIT) in Bagbazar, former Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal set the tone with the keynote address, challenging attendees to rethink how knowledge and learning shape economic destinies. Noteworthy participants included Dr. Amrit Thapa from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education and Durga Thapa, CEO of the Innovation Academy for Economic Development — both champions of education’s transformative power.

The seminar featured special guests including Prof. Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha from the National Planning Commission, CEDAC Director Prof. Dr. Arjun Kumar Baral, educationist Dr. Nawaraj Khatiwada, Prof. Dr. Riddis Pokharel, former banker Bhuvan Dahal and Dr. Prakash Sharma of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The technical sessions spotlighted cutting-edge research: Dev Ram Acharya dissected “Examining Investment in Education in Nepal by Levels of Education,” revealing where investments flow from classrooms to universities. Dr. Shailendra Jha’s presentation, “From Margins to Momentum: How Education Uplifts Lives and Economies in Nepal,” traced education’s ripple effects on livelihoods and prosperity. The fourth presentation by Durga Thapa provided fresh perspectives on innovation in education.
