School vandalized after teacher allegedly harasses student

A secondary school in Garuda Municipality-9, Rautahat, was vandalized on Sunday after a teacher allegedly harassed a female student.

RAUTAHAT, July 13: A secondary school in Garuda Municipality-9, Rautahat, was vandalized on Sunday after a teacher allegedly harassed a female student.



Locals, including students and parents, accused teacher Rabindra Prasad Sah of inappropriate behavior. The incident reportedly escalated after he wrote "Happy Birthday Meri Jaan" to the student on her birthday, prompting outrage.

Following the incident, students and guardians vandalized the premises of Shree Secondary School in Shreepur. According to acting chair of the school management committee, Rajkumar Das Tatma, a motorcycle parked on the premises was damaged during the vandalism.


Police have taken the teacher into custody. A team led by Inspector Om Prakash Yadav from the Garuda Area Police Office arrived at the scene and used tear gas to disperse the crowd.


DSP Rajan Karki confirmed that all students and teachers have since been sent home and the situation is now under control.
