KATHMANDU, May 1: The Nepal School Employee Council (NSEC) is set to announce a new round of protest today.
An emergency meeting held at Ratna Rajya Secondary School in New Baneshwor decided to unveil the new protest plans at 7 pm this evening.
Ganga Ram Tiwari, president of the NSEC, has stated that the agreement between the Nepal Teachers' Association (NTA) and the government is not acceptable and that the protests will continue. He also announced that new programs will be declared today.
Karnali state lacks over 600 employees

Tiwari accused the NTA of ignoring the employees' demands and making a one-sided agreement. He called for the cancellation of the agreement, stating it was against the rights and interests of the school employees.
During a meeting held to discuss the agreement, tension arose between the staff and teacher leadership. NSEC President Tiwari accused the officials of the NTA of failing to address the staff's demands and of making the agreement under the influence of political party leaders.
“How would the federation know the pain of employees who earn an eight thousand salary? We were not even given accumulated sick leave benefits. This agreement is not acceptable to us,” Tiwari said.
He claimed that the government was trying to deceive employees by promising to bring a bill. “We had said that we would halt the protests only after the law was passed. But the protests were withdrawn after being given a deadline until June 29. There is no basis for the law coming. Our protests will continue,” Tiwari added.
