By No Author
KATHMANDU, April 21: The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday issued show cause notice against the Gorkhapatra Corporation decision to sack the state-owned newspaper’s editor in chief, Sitaram Agrahari.

The apex court issued the order in response to a petition filed by Agrahari at SC, seeking the court’s intervention for scrapping the decision and reinstating him to the post. The writ petitioner has argued that his removal is illegal, ill-intentioned and insulting. [break]

Earlier on, Officiating General Manager of Gorthapatra Corporation Kapil Ghimire on had removed Agrahari from his post and appointed junior executive editor of The Rising Nepal Pushkar Mathema, a 10th level staffer, as officiating editor-in-chief Gorkhapatra daily.

Agrahari, an 11th level staffer, is deputed to Madhuparka magazine, a sister publication of Gorthapatra Corporation. As per the bylaw related to Gorthapatra Corporation, one who holds 11th level cannot be deputed to a post eligible for 10th level.
