A law student Ayush Dahal hailing from Morang had filed a case of contempt of court at SC over a Facebook post by Vice Chair Shrestha. Dahal argued in the petition that Shrestha’s post could erode trust in judiciary because he had posted that justice delivery was not possible without bribing and exerting influence on the court.

He demanded rigorous punishment for Shrestha, who is also the former Home Minister, as per Section 17 of the Judicial Administration Act, 2073 BS. If Shrestha is found guilty, he would face one year of imprisonment as per the law.
