SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship: Nepal to face Sri Lanka again

KATHMANDU, July 17: In the double round-robin format of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-20 Women’s Championship, Nepal is set to face Sri Lanka for the second time. In their previous encounter last Tuesday, Nepal secured a convincing 7-0 victory.



Nepal began the tournament with a 6-1 win over Bhutan but suffered a 3-2 defeat against Bangladesh in their second match. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, lost 9-1 to Bangladesh in their opener and faced a 5-0 defeat against Bhutan in their second game.

Bangladesh currently tops the table with 9 points from 3 matches, followed by Nepal with 6 points. Bhutan sits third with 3 points. The four-team championship is being played in a double-round-robin format, with the team finishing at the top of the table crowned champions.
