KATHMANDU, Aug 26: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has called on the government to take a firm stance to protect Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani, emphasizing that these areas are an integral part of Nepal. It said Nepal’s Constitution, the Sugauli Treaty (1816) and other historical agreements clearly establish these regions as Nepalese sovereign territory.

The RSP expressed serious concern over the recent agreement between India and China to reopen the traditional trade route passing through Lipulekh, according to a statement issued by Shishir Khanal, head of the party’s International Relations Department.
