KATHMANDU, April 5: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) launched its "Jan Yatra" (People's Journey) campaign from Bharatpur, Chitwan, on Saturday.
While party chairman Rabi Lamichhane remains in police custody, the vice-chairman, lawmakers, and central members of the party officially kicked off the program by ringing a bell at the Guest House ground in Bharatpur-10. The party organized this campaign based on the decision made during its central committee meeting to connect the party with the public.

Chairman Lamichhane was arrested after the Butwal bench of Tulsipur High Court issued an order to remand Lamichhane into custody on Friday evening. Chairman Lamichhane is currently in police detention.
Prior to his arrest, Chairman Lamichhane directed the party leadership to continue the Jana Yatra program without interruption. He announced his plan to participate in Saturday's event, address the crowd and explain why the government led by the former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal collapsed during his tenure as Home Minister. However, the arrest following the court's order prevented him from attending.
