KATHMANDU, April 7: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chairman Rabi Lamichhane, who was arrested in connection with Rupandehi-based Supreme Cooperative fraud and organized crime case, has been sent to the Bhairahawa District Jail today.
On Monday, the District Police Office (DPO) in Rupandehi completed the legal procedures and sent Lamichhane to the Bhairahawa Jail.
RSP Chair Lamichhane to appear before Bhairahawa court

Lamichhane, who was arrested from his residence in Kathmandu on Friday night, was brought to Gautam Buddha Airport on the morning of April 5 via a Yeti Airlines flight and placed in the custody of the Rupandehi DPO.
Due to the government holiday, he spent two days in custody before being taken to the District Court Rupandehi, where a remand order was issued, and he was then transferred to jail. He will remain in jail until the court's decision.
Last Friday, the Butwal bench of the High Court in Tulsipur ordered the detention of Lamichhane in custody pending trial for allegedly embezzling cooperative funds.
Although the Rupandehi District Court had earlier ordered his release on bail of Rs 10 million, the Tulsipur High Court overturned that decision and ordered that Lamichhane be kept in custody for further investigation in relation to his involvement in the Rupandehi-based Supreme Cooperative fraud and organized crime case. Lamichhane was arrested following the High Court's order.
Lamichhane, who won election from Chitwan and also served as the deputy prime minister and home minister before his fall from grace, has consistently maintained his innocence in all these cases from the beginning.
