KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Kamal Thapa, Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N), has alleged that Nepal’s traditional identity rooted in monarchy and Hindu nationhood was deliberately ambushed at the direction of foreign forces.
Speaking at a party induction event in Kathmandu, Chairman Thapa claimed that these core elements of Nepal’s identity were dismantled without public consent, under the influence and sponsorship of foreign powers. “Foreign agendas forcibly imposed without the people’s mandate cannot serve the national interest,” he said.
Thapa reiterated that the federal system remains unclear to the general public and warned that the country cannot afford the burden of a “white elephant” in the name of federalism. Recalling the political changes of 2005/06, he said he had personally witnessed intense foreign pressure during that period.

He further criticized the current political climate, saying it is dominated by "opportunists, frauds and theatrical actors" lacking principles. For Nepal to become sovereign and prosperous, he stressed, the nation must embrace the ideology upheld by RPP-N.
Thapa stated that there is now no alternative to adopting the path of monarchy-based nationalism to save and rebuild the country. He reaffirmed his continued commitment to positioning RPP-Nepal as a strong nationalist and democratic alternative force.
During the program, Thapa welcomed several prominent individuals into the party, including Dr Bal Krishna Dahal, Dr Sudarshan Subedi, economist Prakash Thapa, agriculture expert Ashwin Acharya and Bishnu Tiwari, among others.
