KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has announced plans to build rehabilitation centres for violence-affected women in three provinces during Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26.
Unveiling the budget at the Joint Session of the Federal Parliament on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel said centres will be constructed in Kathmandu, Sudurpaschim and Madhesh provinces. He also emphasised the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards acid attacks and all forms of violence and abuse against women.
Govt to set up trauma centres in all provinces

A total of Rs 620 million has been allocated for the initiative, with the Women, Children and Senior Citizens Service Centre expected to be completed within the FY.
The Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens has been allocated a budget of Rs 208 million for FY 2025/26.
