RAUTAHAT, July 7: At the end of a one-month-long festive season Ramadan, Rautahat-based Muslim community has been celebrating Edi-al-Fitr with much gusto.
According to the Muslim calendar the one-month-long festival Roja (fasting), during which Muslims fast from dawn to dust amidst prayers and recitation of theQuran, ended on Wednesday.

The Muslim community is celebrating Edi-al-Fitr after reading the last part of Ramadan at a mosque on Thursday. “Edi-al-Fitr is celebrated by offering prayers to Allah at mosques early morning and visiting relatives,” said a priest of the Muslim community.
Especially for the festival they eat sweets called Sewai and other milk items such as rice-pudding.
Rautahat has 23 percent Muslim community, constituting the largest number of the community in Nepal. Rautahat has 150 mosques where people pay homage to Allah before offering donation and serving foods to the poor and needy as per their capacity.
