KATHMANDU, May 29: Pro-monarchist parties, including the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), have announced they will continue their Kathmandu-centered protests starting Thursday, demanding the restoration of the monarchy.
RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha stated that pro-monarchist groups will gather at Ratna Park at 1 PM, following their departure from various locations at 11 AM on Thursday. He added that the District Administration Office has not granted permission to hold the protest at Ratna Park. "If it were a rally, we would need permission from the District Administration Office. Since we are staging a protest, we don't need permission," he stated.

Shrestha assured that the protest, set to begin Thursday, will remain peaceful. However, the government is preparing to prevent pro-monarchists from entering Kathmandu via the Ring Road on Thursday.
Pro-monarchists previously held a demonstration on Chaitra 15 (March 28) at Tinkune, Kathmandu. However, the protest turned violent, causing property damage and loss of lives.
