Prime Minister Oli Departs for Home

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli left for Nepal today after completing his official visit to Thailand and attending the sixth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

BANGKOK, April 5: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli left for Nepal today after completing his official visit to Thailand and attending the sixth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).



Prime Minister Oli departed from Bangkok at 10:15 AM local time. Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Suriya Juangroongruangkit, bid him farewell at the VIP lounge of Suvarnabhumi International Airport.


Nepali Ambassador to Thailand Dhan Bahadur Oli and Thai Ambassador to Nepal Saowaphong Sirisorn also saw off the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Oli is set to arrive in Nepal at 12:30 PM today.


This marks the first official visit to Thailand by a Nepali Prime Minister, made at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.


The delegation accompanying Prime Minister Oli included First Lady Radhika Shakya, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal Ek Narayan Aryal, and Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, among others.
