KATHMANDU, Sep 13: President Ram Chandra Paudel has announced the date for the new election to be held on March 5 next year.
The Office of the President issued a notice on Saturday announcing the date as per the recommendation of the newly elected Prime Minister Sushila Karki. On Friday, President Poudel had dissolved the House of Representatives (HoR) as recommended by PM Sushila Karki.

The dissolution of the HoR was one of the key mandates by the Gen Z protests held on September 8 and 9. “March 5, 2026 has been fixed as the date for the election of the new House of Representatives,” read a statement.
