The blast created a crater approximately 10 feet deep and 4 feet wide. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ripendra Kumar Singh confirmed that the explosion was caused by the buried explosive material.
Authorities reported no human casualties. Police and security personnel promptly reached the site and Ward Chairman Mohan Lal Sharma said that while the explosion was substantial, no one was injured.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to police. Locals suspect that the bomb could have been planted on the road during the Maoist insurgency era.
