Police, Army into men’s volleyball final

BANKE, April 24: Departmental teams Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club on Tuesday set the summit clash of men’s volleyball at the Eighth National Games. 



In the first semifinal match at the Khajura Shukra Volleyball Stadium in Banke, Police defeated Gandaki Province 25-23, 25-13, 20-25, 25-20 to advance into the final.

In the other semifinal match played on the same day, Army saw off the other departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) Club in a tightly-contested match 18-25, 25-22, 31-33, 25-21, 15-11 to seal its final clash with Police. 


In women’s category, APF and Province 3 have also set the summit clash. 


In the first last-four clash, APF beat Gandaki Province 25-9, 25-16, 25-9, while Province 3 got past Police 25-23, 25-11, 25-18 on straight sets to reach the final.
