KATHMANDU, Aug 18: CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has taken a swipe at Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala, accusing him of political inconsistency.

Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Chautari Nepal, Kanchanpur Chapter, on Monday, Pokharel said Koirala was “demanding a share in power on one hand while criticizing the government on the other.”

Pokharel argued that it was “unethical” for Koirala to seek participation in government while simultaneously opposing it. He also reiterated that the alliance between the UML and NC would remain intact until the next general election.

Earlier, NC rival faction leader Dr Koirala had criticized UML for capturing all public spaces by mobilizing its cadres in different names. He has been a vocal critic of the current KP Sharma Oli-led government.
