Pokharel takes subtle jibe at Maoist Center over leadership

KATHMANDU, Aug 7: Shankar Pokharel, General Secretary of the CPN-UML, has taken a veiled swipe at the CPN (Maoist Center), pointing out the lack of leadership change in the party since the establishment of the multi-party system.

At a time when internal debate is ongoing within the UML over leadership transition, Pokharel posted a comparative list on social media showing how leadership has evolved in major political parties—UML, Nepali Congress (NC), and the Maoist Center.


In his post, Pokharel listed five leaders who have led the UML, four from the NC, and only one—Pushpa Kamal Dahal—from the Maoist Center, suggesting that the latter has seen no change in top leadership since its inception.
