MUSTANG, June 27: As the number of air passengers visiting Mustang during the monsoon season continues to decline, private airlines have decided to suspend Pokhara–Jomsom flights for two months.
Sujan Lalchan, the company's Jomsom station in charge, announced that Tara Air, which has been flying the Twin Otter aircraft on this route on a regular basis, has suspended its flights for two months, starting on June 16.

Tara Air will resume flights from the first week of September. “Due to a decline in air passengers and unfavorable weather, Tara Air has suspended its flights. Services will resume once the new season begins,” he said.
Summit Air has also announced that it will suspend flights on this route for two months starting July 4. Summit Air’s Jomsom station in-charge, Suman Thakali, said the decision to suspend flights for two months was made recently. “Currently, there is barely one flight a day on this route, and passenger numbers are also decreasing,” he added.
The Jomsom Civil Aviation Office has reported a drop in the number of air passengers since the start of the monsoon. According to Deepak Pokharel, the office chief, Tara Air has already suspended flights, and Summit Air is also planning to follow suit soon.
According to the inspector and information officer at the District Police Office, Mustang, Bishal Adhikari, not only air passengers but also road travelers to Jomson have decreased since the activation of the monsoon.
