During the meeting, he informed that party membership has increased by around 15 percent. "Based on current membership and renewal data, we’ve seen almost a 15 percent rise. Once we finalize the data, we will make it public," he said, "We are encouraged by the growth in organized party members."

Vice-chair Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the statute amendment proposal in the meeting. Seven leaders expressed their views on it today.
Those who spoke include Lal Babu Pandit, Dr Rajan Bhattarai, Kashinath Adhikari, Kiran Gurung, Sherdhan Rai, Khagaraj Adhikari, and Karn Bahadur Thapa. Other Politburo members are scheduled to speak in tomorrow’s session.
The amendment proposal includes removing the current statute’s (2078 amendment) provision in Article 64 that restricts party leaders by age limit of 70 years and two terms.
It also proposes setting the number of office bearers at 15 and the Central Committee at 251 members.
The proposal outlines a three-tier structure comprising the Standing Committee, Politburo, and Central Committee.
It has also proposed treating office bearers as members of the Standing Committee, whereas previously, they were considered Secretariat members.
The proposal introduces two types of membership—general and organized. Party members affiliated with mass organizations will be categorized as organized only after receiving internal training.
Since not all Politburo members were able to speak today, the meeting will continue at 11 am on Saturday at the party office in Chyasal.
