KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to visit China before his planned trip to India.
According to a high-level source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PM Oli will depart for China on August 30 to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. He will return to Nepal on September 3. The event, which will be inaugurated by Chinese President Xi Jinping, is expected to be attended by the heads of state from around two dozen countries worldwide.

“The Prime Minister will leave for China on August 30,” a senior Foreign Ministry official confirmed. Upon returning from China, Oli will immediately proceed with his visit to India.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is arriving in Kathmandu on August 17 to extend a formal invitation to him to visit India.
This will be PM Oli’s first visit to India since assuming office 12 months ago.
