PM Oli postpones public events following Rasuwa flood havoc

Taking to Facebook on Tuesday, PM Oli informed that the decision to cancel the events was made due to his engagement in coordinating emergency relief efforts.

KATHMANDU, July 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has postponed all his scheduled public events following the damage caused by flooding in Rasuwa on Tuesday morning, triggered by heavy rainfall from the Tibetan side.



He was scheduled to attend events organized by the Department of Agriculture and Livestock Development and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries today.

Taking to Facebook on Tuesday, PM Oli informed that the decision to cancel the events was made due to his engagement in coordinating emergency relief efforts.


"The government is making a full-scale effort to rescue those affected by the flooding in the Trishuli River, caused by heavy rainfall in the border areas of Tibet," he stated. Oli also said he is receiving regular updates from security agencies on the ongoing rescue operations and that emergency assistance is being swiftly coordinated in the disaster-prone areas.


He emphasized that there should be no lack of effort from the government's side and has instructed authorities accordingly.
