KATHMANDU, July 5: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed confidence that Nepal will triumph in the upcoming women’s football match against Uzbekistan, pledging his full moral support throughout the match.
Returning from an official visit to Spain, Prime Minister Oli addressed the national team virtually from his official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday. The team, currently in Uzbekistan, will play their final match of the group stage after defeating Sri Lanka.

Wishing the players success, Prime Minister Oli said, “I will be with you throughout the match. I see the determination to win in you. You must win—Nepal will win.”
Directly addressing the players, he added, “Samba and team, wish you all the best.” His encouraging words were met with applause and gratitude from the team.
Oli praised the women’s team for their dedication and said this final could mark a golden chapter in the 40-year history of Nepali women’s football.
“I admire your contribution in bringing pride to the country. This victory will be a turning point for us,” he said.
Also present during the virtual interaction were National Sports Council Member Secretary Tankalal Ghising and All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Pankaj Bikram Nembang.
President Nembang said the Prime Minister’s encouragement and interest in sports had given the team a significant morale boost.
