KATHMANDU – Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that those involved in the violence and destruction of public property are brought under justice.
PM Karki, who assumed the office with a verdict from Gen Z through street protest, said so during her first day at the office. She said that the arson and vandalism during the protests of September 9 was pre planned.

“The kind of arson and vandalism that has taken place is a criminal act. How can those who commit such acts be called Nepali? Whatever happened has surprised me. This was carried out in an organized manner. Those responsible must be punished,” she said.
Similarly, she instructed Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal and other secretaries on Friday to arrange the repair of the destroyed police offices, even if it requires covering them with bamboo mats and taking the help of local people.
On 9 September, thousands of people in the guise of Gen Z had taken to street settings to ablaze the major administrative, judiciary and executive bodies across the valley. It included setting ablaze, Singha Durbar – the major administrative complex of the government, Parliament Building, President’s building, Supreme Court and all major police stations.
They also burned houses of former Prime Ministers.
