KATHMANDU, Sep 21: The Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers is likely to allow three ‘powerful’ departments under regular ministry.
Department of Revenue Investigation (DoRI), Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DoMLI) and the National Investigation Department (NID) which are considered to be powerful departments had been brought under the Prime Minister’s Office by the ousted PM KP Sharma Oli.
Oli to address meeting of UML central departments

The interim government formed under the leadership of PM Sushila Karki, will most likely decide to allow three departments to work under regular ministry according to sources.
These powerful bodies were brought under the PMO in February 2019, allowing PM Oli to have a strong hold on the cases of corruption. Later, the government formed under Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba showed interest in returning these departments to its regular ministries but no action was taken in this matter.
DoRI and DoMLI fall under Finance Ministers and NID under the Home Ministry.
