KATHMANDU, Sep 18: Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation on Thursday.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PM Karki spoke directly with her Indian counterpart from the PM’'s office at Singha Durbar.

In the over thirty-minute conversation, Indian PM Modi commended Karki for her leadership in managing the current political and social situation in Nepal peacefully.
He also expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by recent events and assured that India was ready to offer any necessary support to the Nepalese government.
PM Karki, in return, extended her birthday wishes to her Indian counterpart and expressed confidence that the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries would be further strengthened.
PM Modi, later taking to ‘X,’ shared details of the phone conversation, stating, “I had a warm conversation with Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki. I expressed heartfelt condolences over the recent tragic loss of lives and reiterated India's unwavering support in her efforts to restore peace and stability. I also conveyed my best wishes to her and the people of Nepal on the occasion of tomorrow's National Day.”
