KAKARVITTA, Aug 27: In the first month of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26, which corresponds to the Shrawan period (mid-July to mid-August), petroleum products worth Rs 1.501 billion were imported through Kakarvitta.
According to Ishwor Kumar Humagain, Information Officer at the Customs Office, Mechi, petroleum imports increased by Rs 52.2 million (3.60 percent) compared to the same period in the previous FY 2024/25. With this slight increase in imports, revenue from petroleum products also rose by 11.80 percent, equivalent to Rs 79.15 million.

A total of Rs 748.33 million in revenue was collected from petroleum imports during the period. This included petrol worth Rs 770.3 million (8,904 kiloliters) and diesel worth Rs 441.1 million (4,676 kiloliters).
Similarly, LPG worth Rs 200.3 million (1,933 metric tons), ATF worth Rs 70.3 million (792 kiloliters), and kerosene worth Rs 11.3 million (128 kiloliters) were also imported during the same period.
