Pathibhara Cable Car dispute: Home Ministry calls protesting parties for further talks

The secretariat of the negotiation team under the Ministry of Home Affairs  has called Mukkumlung Tansep Chumpho and the Mukkumlung Conservation Inter-Party Struggle Committee for talks.

KATHMANDU, March 14: The government has called the protesting parties for further talks to resolve the Pathibhara cable car dispute.



The secretariat of the negotiation team under the Ministry of Home Affairs  has called Mukkumlung Tansep Chumpho and the Mukkumlung Conservation Inter-Party Struggle Committee for talks.

In a letter signed by the coordinator of the negotiation team, Home Ministry Joint Secretary Prem Prasad Bhattarai, local representatives from Taplejung district have been invited on behalf of the protesting parties to participate in talks aimed at finding a peaceful resolution to the issue.


The Home Ministry has called for a peaceful resolution of the issues raised by the protesting parties regarding social, religious, cultural, and local community demands, through dialogue and discussions with local stakeholders. The first round of talks were held between the government and the protesting parties on February 4. The ministry has also stated that continuous talks and dialogue have been ongoing between the facilitation committee of the protesting parties and the government since February 4.
