KATHMANDU, July 25: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that her party membership in the ruling party CPN-UML has already been renewed, and therefore there is no reason to create controversy over the matter.
Speaking at a press conference held at Karki Banquet, Baneshwor, on Friday, she stated, “Since my party membership has already been renewed, there is no issue that should be made controversial.”

She added that she has been a party member for 45 years. “Therefore, while being committed to the party’s ideals and to the nation, I cannot be excluded from party membership under any circumstances,” she said.
Bhandari also stated that she will not be discouraged. “I urge all comrades to embrace the party's values and actively engage in party building,” she said, “There are thousands like me who have contributed to building this party.”
