The Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs' Federation had lodged the complaint, alleging that the existing legal provisions on the load-carrying capacity of freight vehicles were not being implemented or enforced.
The complaint stated that the condition of bridges and roads had deteriorated and the risk of road accidents had increased due to the operation of vehicles carrying loads in violation of the standards set by the Freight Vehicle Load-Carrying Directive, 2074 BS.
