Over 1.5 million fertilizer bags entering Nepal: Salt Trading Corporation

STC recently imported a total of 1,523,000 bags of chemical fertilizer, including 440,000 bags of urea and 1,083,000 bags of DAP.

KATHMANDU, August 16: Salt Trading Corporation Limited (STC) has announced that 1,523,000 bags of chemical fertilizer have arrived at Kolkata Port, India, and are being rapidly transported to the corporation’s warehouses across Nepal.



STC recently imported a total of 1,523,000 bags of chemical fertilizer, including 440,000 bags of urea and 1,083,000 bags of DAP. The corporation has already notified provincial governments of quota allocation and has received confirmation that the provinces have distributed the quotas to local municipalities.

In a statement released on Friday regarding the latest fertilizer status, STC said, “All registered fertilizer dealers are requested to coordinate with their respective municipalities and the corporation’s offices to sell and distribute fertilizer according to the allocated quotas.”


The corporation also noted that it is aware of media and social media reports about a shortage of chemical fertilizer in the market.
