Over 1,000 police deployed to arrest JSP Province Chairman Yadav

The District Police Office (DPO), Sarlahi, has deployed over 1,000 police personnel to arrest Ashok Yadav, Province Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal in Madhesh Province and a former provincial assembly member.

RAUTAHAT, July 5: The District Police Office (DPO), Sarlahi, has deployed over 1,000 police personnel to arrest Ashok Yadav, Province Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) in Madhesh Province and a former provincial assembly member.



Following an arrest warrant issued by the District Court, Sarlahi, on Friday afternoon, the police have placed all units in the district on high alert to apprehend the leader. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Saroj Rai, spokesperson for the Sarlahi Police, stated that all units have been instructed to monitor and immediately arrest Yadav wherever he is found.

DSP Rai further informed that the police are tracking Yadav’s mobile phone and coordinating with the central office to determine his exact location.


Police personnel from various units have been brought to the DPO, which remains on high alert, and surveillance has been intensified throughout the district, DSP Rai said, confirming the plan to arrest Yadav.


An audio recording of an altercation between Yadav and Sarlahi Police Chief, Superintendent of Police Yogendra Kumar Khadka, was publicly released on Thursday night.


Following the incident, a police team dispatched to arrest Yadav was reportedly attacked with stones. Yadav’s supporters allegedly vandalized police vehicles, obstructed police operations, and blocked public roads.


Yadav is accused of damaging government vehicles and property and obstructing official duties by blocking roads. Based on the police report, the arrest warrant was issued.
