Oppn warns to obstruct parliamentary proceedings until HM Lekhak resigns

KATHMANDU, May 27: Opposition parties have obstructed the parliament demanding the resignation of Home Minister (HM) Ramesh Lekhak.



They stalled the session, accusing Minister Lekhak of being involved in the visit visa controversy and demanding his resignation to facilitate an impartial investigation. Speaking during the session, CPN (Maoist Center) lawmaker Barsha Man Pun warned that parliamentary proceedings would not advance until Lekhak resigns.

Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Shishir Khanal also demanded the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. He stated that if any minister comes under scrutiny, they should not remain in office. The RSP warned that it would not allow the parliament to proceed unless the Home Minister resigns.


Following the obstruction by the opposition parties, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire suspended the parliamentary session for half an hour.
