NAWALPARASI, July 18: A woman died and three others were injured in a motorcycle accident in Hupsekot Rural Municipality–3 of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).
The accident occurred on Thursday night at Bhupati Chowk, where a motorcycle struck pedestrians. Thirty-five-year-old Shobha Sigdel, a local resident, was seriously injured and later died during treatment, according to Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal at District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).
One killed, two seriously injured in a motorcycle accident
The motorcycle, bearing registration number Ga 7 Pa 2721 and heading from Giruwari to Basantpur, hit pedestrians Shobha Sigdel and Indira Koirala while they were walking along the road.
Both were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. While Shobha succumbed to her injuries, Indira Koirala is still undergoing treatment.
The motorcycle rider, 35-year-old Nishan Singh Thakuri of Kolia, Hupsekot Rural Municipality–2, and the pillion rider, 32-year-old Som Bahadur Somai of the same locality, are also receiving treatment at a local hospital.
