One dead, two missing as autorickshaw plunges into Naugad river

The autorickshaw numbered (Ma 1 Ha 1148) was heading from Hoparigad to Dhuligada when the accident occurred. Police confirmed that five people were onboard at the time.

KHALANGA, Sept 1: An autorickshaw accident in Darchula claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl while two others remain missing.



According to Police Inspector and Information Officer Chhatra Bahadur Rawat of the District Police Office, the autorickshaw fell into the Naugad River at Shaukebagar, Naugad Rural Municipality–5, resulting in the death of Aruna Dhami aged 11.

The autorickshaw numbered (Ma 1 Ha 1148) was heading from Hoparigad to Dhuligada when the accident occurred. Police confirmed that five people were onboard at the time.


The driver, Maniram Bhul, has been taken into police custody. His 17-year-old son, Ayush, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at Gokuleshwar Hospital.


The identities of the two missing passengers are yet to be confirmed. Police teams from Dhuligada and Hoparigad have been deployed to the accident site to carry out search operations.
