JUMLA, June 25: A tractor accident in Jumla’s Tila Rural Municipality claimed one life and left the driver critically injured on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the accident occurred at 1:35 pm in Tila-5, Chulakot, killing laborer Lokesh Buda, 23, on the spot. The driver, Karn Jaishi, 30, of Tila-3, sustained serious injuries.
Tractor driver found dead
Assistant Sub-Inspector Asim Hamal said the tractor (Ba 1 Ta 6472), en route from Kudari to Chulakot to collect stones, veered off the inner unpaved road and plunged about 50 meters downhill.
The injured driver was rescued and transported to Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Jumla, via an ambulance dispatched by the rural municipality.
The accident site is located about 22 kilometers northwest of Jumla’s district headquarters. Police said further investigation is underway.
